We turn to Numbers 33, where the Israelites are reminded of God’s command to drive out the inhabitants of the Promised Land. God was clear: Israel was to remove every trace of the nations that had been there before them, a command meant to preserve their purity and devotion to Him. But what happens when they fail to fully obey this directive? We dive into the consequences of compromise, exploring how Israel’s failure to completely remove the Canaanites would later lead to entanglements with idolatry, conflict, and spiritual decline. Drawing from this, we examine how partial obedience can have far-reaching impacts, both on Israel and on us today.
